Maile On the Issues
Government Transparency & Accountability
Dedicated to championing transparency, accountability, and accessibility within our county government. I am committed to ensuring that residents are well-informed with timely, accurate information. As an elected official, my foremost duty is to serve our community, listening attentively to residents’ concerns and advocating for their needs with respect and diligence.
Infrastructure Planning and Project Completion
Continuously prioritizing infrastructure projects and seeing them through to completion. I am committed to focus on mitigating the effects of growth on our residents while maintaining our quality of life. Investments in infrastructure must be strategically focused, properly designed, and completed in a timely manner. I have a track record of proactively securing funding for safety-enhancing projects that are essential to foster better land use and bolster community resilience.
Water
Recognizing water as our most precious natural resource, I am committed to its prudent management and conservation. We will execute vital water retention and reduction projects through strategic planning and funding while collaborating with relevant stakeholders for long-term planning. By exploring innovative solutions like secondary watering systems, we strive for efficient water usage, making conservation a priority for our county.
Economic & Business Opportunities
Sensitivity to businesses’ needs and impacts guides decision-making, while ensuring collaboration and access to vital information for business owners and employees alike. I will work with all partners to embrace a business-friendly environment through reducing unnecessary regulations. I will persistently seek ways to promote our mom & pop businesses, large corporations and outside business expansion to foster a thriving community.
Quality of Life
Upholding Iron County as a safe haven for residents, I will seek to prioritize the development and maintenance of parks, open spaces, and trails for recreational enjoyment. Through ongoing improvements, I will aim to provide quality venues for residents and visitors alike. Timely dissemination of accurate information remains paramount, ensuring residents and businesses are well-informed for a better quality of life. I am focused on preserving our Iron County heritage, while preparing for future generations.

Maile Wilson Edwards
For County Commissioner
Why I’m Running
I believe that we live in one of the most beautiful areas in the nation but if we are not careful, Iron County could become unrecognizable. In Iron County, we are proud of where we have come from, proud of our heritage, and proud of our way of life! I want to honor our heritage while preparing for the future!
In the forefront of my mind are issues that impact our current everyday lives and our future. These issues include: safety in our communities, employment opportunities, water, housing affordability, sustaining our quality of life, and infrastructure to meet our county growth. I love our County, and I am the proud mother of the 4th generation in my family to be raised right here in Iron County. I grew up when opportunities were abundant, and quality of life was center stage. I want to ensure that the same experiences I had, and more, are available to my children and all citizens of our County.
I am running for County Commission because there are decisions being made now that will not only impact us today, but also future generations to come. We need someone who is willing to listen to concerns, stand up and fight for our residents, and ensure proper planning is occurring now and for the future. I am that person; I am ready to lead out on important issues day one and be the representative for ALL the residents of Iron County.
